Boysterous Fun
Manhattan Toy Giveaway
Our friends at Manhattan Toy just introduced a brand new line of toys for young boys--Boysterous! My boys and I were lucky to get to try them out and share our thoughts with you. We received a couple of these sporty figures--Slope Shreddin' Sean and Goalie Gavin, along with a take-along "Extreme Sports Zone."
I really love the idea behind these toys. They are the ultimate action figure, as they are ready to play a real life sport that your boys can relate to. There are no violent or ...

Broadway Bound
The Murphy Girls Sweet Shop
My oldest son just turned 11--I can't believe how quickly the time has gone! For his birthday, we took him into the city to see a Broadway show. He loves to act and loves going to the theatre, so for his birthday cake, I thought it would be fun to have a theatre themed cake.
I am not a cake decorator. I think if I tried, the results would be disastrous, or at least, highly comical. So, I know when I am looking for a special cake to be ...

New Carseat Guidelines
Last week, both the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued new recommendations for child seats.
The new guidelines advise parents to…
- Keep toddlers in rear-facing car seats until they reach two years of age or until they reach the highest weight or height allowed by their car safety seat’s manufacturer.
- Most children will need to remain in a booster seat until they have reached 4 feet 9 inches tall and are between 8 and 12 years old. The booster seat’s ...
NutriSkin
Replenishing Lotion from Dial
This changing weather has really done a number on my skin. I get very dry skin in the winter as it is, but with the weather warming up and then temperatures dropping again, my skin certainly paid the price.
I was sent a new product from Dial, NutriSkin Replenishing Lotion, around the time my skin was getting really bad. I was anxious to try it out, but not really sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how well and how quickly I saw results. This lotion is a ...

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
My husband and I had the opportunity to see the musical comedy “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” at the Paper Mill Playhouse over the weekend. What a delightful time! The show is full of light, old fashioned, yet bawdy at times, comedy that will keep you laughing and smiling!
The story takes place in ancient Rome. Psuedolis, wonderfully played by Paul Vogt, is a slave who wants more than anything to have his freedom. He comes up with a simple plan to help his young ...
