Pump the Pump

Softsoap

>Softsoap Video

Getting kids to wash their hands can be quite the challenge! Softsoap has created a video that not only educates kids about proper hand washing, but also makes the experience fun and easy!
Upon opening, we see “The Dirties” a rock-band of germs performing in a stadium of raucous fans. The irresistibly catchy chorus of “pump the pump” reminds kids of occasions when it is necessary to wash their hands. Midway through the song, the band is transformed into “The Cleanies” by the power of soap.  Macaroni Kid sponsor Softsoap believes that telling kids to go "Pump the Pump" is more fun than nagging "wash your hands".  Try it with your kids!

Road Trip: Washington, D.C.

Hilton Garden Inn

Over the weekend we got to visit Washington DC, staying at the brand new Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capital.  Staying overnight in DC has always been a bit of a hassle for us because we never know where to stay with the kids.  We have gone to other hotels and not had very good experiences, as we didn't feel very safe in the area and it was very inconvenient to get to attractions.

The Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/US Capital was a great choice for ...

Cool Off on a Hot Day With Jelly Belly

My kids have found their new favorite dessert for hot days--jelly belly slushees!  We were sent an electric ice shaver from West Bend.  In the past, I have tried different manual ice shavers and was less than impressed.  This one was completely different, though.  You can use regular ice cubes or the molds that are included in the kit.  Simply plug in the machine, add the ice and set a cup in the holder.  Fine ice shavings quickly fill up the cup and the most difficult aspect of all comes ...

As you have gathered by now, I moved this past fall into a new house.  There has been lots we have been updating and it has been a fun--and educational--process to be sure!  One of the things that I have been trying to change are the curtains.  They are very dated, floral and not exactly my style.  In my search for simple, yet nice, curtains, I came across Comfort Works.  This company is awesome!
