Haunted Village at the Clinton Red Mill

We spent our Saturday night visiting the Haunted Village at the  Clinton Red Mill.  As you may have heard by now, villagers have been infected by a deadly contagious virus and the horrors that await you are atrocious.  Trying to make it out unscathed, is, well, next to impossible.

  The Home Depot's Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit.

The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.

In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

Air O Swiss

Must have!

I received an incredible humidifier to try out recently that I love!  This thing is not just any old humidifier, though, it is an Air-O-Swiss 7135, a digital masterpiece, if you will.  We have some allergy and asthma suffererers in our home, so between that and the occasional colds, humidifiers are something we have always kept in the house.

I particularly like playing Who Wants to Be A Millionaire with my kids--they finally get to see that mom actually knows a lot--it maybe a lot of useless information, but it is enough for them to see that, yes, I can win a video game ...


Glee

Maybe I have been living under a rock for awhile, because I only recently even heard of Glee.  I don't watch a lot of TV, so I certainly didn't see it there.  Well, Glee has come out on DVD and Blu Ray (the Complete First Season) and I was sent it to review.  I am so glad I was!  We have totally gotten pulled in and I have to say, I am loving this show!  Love the music, the uncomfortable situations and I love Sue Sylvester's ramblings--she ...


Great Gift for Mom or Dad!

I have a confession to make.  I am absolutely horrible at taking video of my kids.  Deep  down I really want to have these images to last forever, really, I do.  As I have had each child, though, my time and memory has diminished and inevitably, I forget to take my quite large video recorder with me to any given event.  Even when I have remembered, though, I have forgotten to charge the battery!  It drives me crazy!

Spider Pizza

Ingredients
  • 1 pkg prebaked mini pizza crusts
  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 sticks of mozzarella string cheese
  • 3 large pitted black olives
1. Heat oven to 450°F. Place crusts on a baking sheet; top with sauce. Pull cheese into thin strips; place on pizzas in the shape of a web.
