Marshmallow Snowmen

By Valarie Fisher, Macaroni Kid Roseville-Rocklin-Lincoln January 4, 2017
I just love themed parties! We had a Holiday party for the kids recently and I made a lot of themed food. These snowman were a hit with the kids, and they are easy to make. In fact, if we’d had more time, it would have been something the kids could have made themselves.

Here’s what you’ll need for each snowman:
1 large marshmallow
2 jumbo marshmallows
handful of white chocolate chips, bark or candy coating
2 mini red candy (green would be festive, too)
1 mini orange candy
1 tube of black decorator icing (for eyes)
2 stick pretzels

Here's what you do:
1. Melt the white chocolate chips/bark/candy coating.

2. Dip one end of a jumbo marshmallow in the chocolate. Place the other jumbo marshmallow on top of it.

3. Dip one end of the large marshmallow in the coating, then place it on top of the stack of jumbo marshmallows.

4. Let the marshmallows sit so the coating hardens and holds the stack together.

5. Dip the red candies into the melted coating and stick them onto the middle marshmallow for buttons.

6. Use the tip of a sharp knife to make a tiny slit where the “carrot” nose should go. Note: If you are making this as a kids' project, you will want to cut the slit with the knife yourself.

7. Dip the side of the orange candy into the white coating and then stick it into the slot so it still sticks out a bit.

8. Stick the pretzels into the side of the middle marshmallow for arms. Add 2 black dots for the eyes, using the decorator icing.

9. Sit back and see how cute they look, and watch the kids devour them!
