Back to School Lunches
Yellow Margosa
It has finally arrived--the brand new school year. With it comes about 180 days of packing lunches for your child. Think of all the garbage you can accumulate in 180 days! In an effort to be green, reusable lunch products are flying off the shelves right now.
I was sent some cool products from Yellow Margosa, an online retailer of reusable lunch products, to test out. Stainless steel and sturdy, these lunch items are a great thing to purchase for the new school year. I love the oval lunch kit. It is compact, yet has enough room in it's stackable compartments to fit a sandwich in one and fruit or other snacks in the other. Then side clamps clip to the top to hold in place. No nasty chemicals will leach into your child's food, as it is certified BPA and lead free. It is a really great idea. You can reuse this over and over with no trash left behind. You can wash it--but here's a tip--don't wash stainless steel with lemon-scented dish soap, as it is not safe to use on stainless steel.

For kiddos still at home, you can also use the cute stainless steel lunch tray. This dish has three separate compartments to keep food separated. Awesome for kids of all ages!
In addition to great products, Yellow Margosa has some great tips to help you create a trash-free lunch this year on their site.
Right now, Macaroni Kid readers are being offered a special savings of 20% when ordering Yellow Margosa products online. Simply type in the code mackids at checkout! This is valid until September 15th, so order now!
