Yantra Mat Winner!

July 26, 2010

Our winner was chosen and it is Tara M.! Congratulations!

When the end of the day comes we are ready for bed time for these sweet kiddos of ours.  Bedtime for them means time to unwind and relax without interruption.  But, chances are good we have had an entire day of craziness and sometimes it is hard to really relax.  I have a really great way for you to relax for real now!  I was sent a Yantra Mat, a European acupressure spike mat, to try out.  What is it supposed to do?  The Yantra Mat, just introduced to the United States in January,  features 8800 acupressure points that help alleviate back pain, headaches, stress, anxiety and aids circulations, increases metabolism and promotes meditation.  I was a little skeptical that it would do all that it says, so I put it to the test.

You basically roll out the mat and lie down on it.  That is all that you have to do.  It is a strange sensation at first, it stings a bit at first, which you would expect lying down on a bed of nails, right?  But almost immediately, your body feels really good.  You feel very warm and relaxed.  Apparently, this is where the circulation comes into play, you will feel a tingling sensation and that is helping to deliver nutrients and releasing endorphins and oxytocin, which makes you feel good.  I have gotten into the habit to use this for several minutes before getting ready for bed and it feels so great! The company recommends you start with 10 minutes a day and move up to 20-40 minutes once you’ve acclimated.  It’s a major ‘time saver’ for those who have any of the above conditions and don’t have time for daily/weekly acupuncture or massage treatments.

When you are finished, roll up the mat and put it away.  Quick and easy.  Give it a try and get one for yourself, you will love it as much as I do!
