Registration Open for Chabad Hebrew School 2014/15

Growing Hebrew School welcomes new students for upcoming school year

August 22, 2014
Entering its 11th year, Chabad of Hunterdon County Hebrew School is proud to announce that registration is open to new students and their parents for the upcoming school year which is set to begin on Sunday, September 7th 2014. Chabad of Hunterdon County invites potential new students and their families to visit the school, meet the staff and teachers, and enroll in a free 1-month trial.

Chabad Hebrew School has grown to more than sixty five children and enjoys a well-earned reputation as a trend setter in creative Jewish education for children aged 3 to 13 years; Chabad’s Hebrew School features a dynamic well trained staff, student to teacher ratios that allow for individualized attention, cutting edge curriculum and a diverse student body.

“Our students are from various backgrounds and affiliations and we have developed a teaching model that is able to adapt and cater to different levels of Jewish knowledge and experience. During the past 12 months we have researched more than 6 different curriculums for the upcoming school year, we will take best-practices and implement them at Chabad” says Hebrew School director Rachel Kornfeld. Chabad of Hunterdon Hebrew School is open to the community and Synagogue membership is not required.

Parents of Chabad Hebrew School students rave about their experience at Chabad. Cory and Alyssa from Clinton, for example, recently wrote, “Our daughters have truly embraced their Jewish heritage with open arms at the Chabad of Hunterdon County Hebrew School. They make it fun and easy to embrace. We would highly recommend Chabad’s Hebrew School Program”

Anna and Eugene Benenson from Califon shared the Klein’s’ sentiments: “Our children have been students at Chabad Hebrew School for 6 years. They look forward to Sunday mornings, when they can return to Hebrew School for fun and educational projects, caring teachers and laughs with their friends. Our youngest doesn’t realize how he is learning while having fun and the oldest look forward to asking questions of their very knowledgeable teachers and appreciate how approachable the rabbi is”

“As our Hebrew school grows, we are dedicated to keeping our current teacher-student ratio intact. Chabad will therefore be hiring more qualified teachers this year,” said Rachel Kornfeld. “We have been interviewing all summer and will select from a group of more than 100 who have applied for the teaching positions.”

Through Hebrew reading and writing, Jewish history, holidays, and more, students gain an appreciation of the joys, values, and traditions of their Jewish heritage as it is vividly brought to life by the dedicated and enthusiastic teachers whose imagination and vision make every lesson a unique learning experience. As one teacher, Schizei Bergevoy said, “Each lesson is created to engage all the senses so that the student feels an excitement and connection to the material being presented.” The program is thus carefully blended with games, incentives, crafts, dramatics, family celebrations, and other exciting extra curricular activities.

“The goal of our school is to create a welcoming and dynamic environment where students are imbued with a warmth and curiosity for Judaism, all through our interactive, hands-on, and innovative lessons,” explains curriculum contributor Sara Rabin. “Our motto is ‘Learn It, Love It, Live It.’”
