I am so excited to tell you about this incredible new business in Hunterdon County! Kona-Ice is incredible! We had them come to the end of our birthday party this past weekend as a surprise to the kids. None of the guests knew about the plans to have this truck come to our house, so you can imagine the surprise when this colorful truck comes and parks in our driveway playing fun party music. The kids were pumped, although, no one really had any idea what it was all about.
Imagine an ice cream truck, only very colorful, bright, and welcoming. You can buy ice pops from the side window of the truck, but better yet, you can purchase a Kona-Ice. Shaved ice overflowing from a cup is handed to the kids waiting in line. It's not flavored, yet, because the kids get to pick for themselves exactly what they want. Once they have their ice in hand, they move to the left of the window to the FlavorWave. This is a line up of ten yummy flavors for the kids to mix and match until they have exactly what they want.
The kids were in heaven! I had so much fun observing the kids experiment with the flavor combinations. They were so excited and when the finally got to try their treats, they were thrilled! My husband and I were excited to try out Kona-Ice, too. I tried Tiger's Blood ( a very popular one among the kiddos, too) and it was delicious. I was transported back to carefree summer days in one bite. I loved it!
You can have Kona-Ice come to you for any occasion. We had them for the birthday party, which was great, and now I am looking for any excuse to get a crowd of people together just to have the truck come back! Tom Obiedzinski, the operator of Kona-Ice of Hunterdon County, was super friendly and enthusiastic, just the personality you need to run this kid friendly business.
Prices are extremely reasonable. Birthday kids get a large Kona-Ice and a T-shirt. Did I mention with their Kona-Ice, every customer gets a flower lei, too? So much fun! You most definitely will want to check them out and have the Kona-Ice truck come to your house. The kids are still talking about how great it was!
