On A Windy Night

October 23, 2011

Want a cute Halloween story to read to the kiddos?  On A Windy Night is just what you are looking for!  Written by Nancy Raines Day and illustrated by George Bates, this new picture book is about a spooky walk home from trick or treating.  A boy keeps hearing  sounds and wonders what it could be.

“Cracklety-clack, bones in a sack. They could be yours—if you look back.” As his heart flip-flops with fear, the boy dashes through woods and fields that seem full of haunting shapes—owls, ghosts, skeletons, and more.

I am always on the look out for great Halloween stories and this one made the cut.  This is one that they will want you to read over and over again.  We love the illustrations and all the great details in the pictures.  Definitely check it out!
