Usborne Books & More

Giveaway

February 28, 2011

Books are a passion of mine.  I realized just how much, actually, when I was packing up my office this week for my new flooring.  Boxes and boxes of books!  To me, you can never have enough children's books.  Looking back on the years I have been a mom, many of my memories reflect on sitting in a special spot reading to each of my boys.  We have spent hours reading wonderful stories. Most of them read independently now, but I know all that time invested has brought about their individual love of reading--that is priceless!

I still read with them everyday, and it is always fun to have a new book to open up and discover with them.  I recently had the opportunity to check out some great new books from Usborne Books & More, courtesy of Rebecca Del Piano.

Why? by Lial Prap, is a fun fiction and nonfiction fusion about the animal kingdom. In this book you can find answers to all sorts of questions about different animals, both imagined and real.  "Why do crocodiles cry?  Because they are spoiled."  After answering a question about an animal with a couple of funny responses, the author goes on the give us the real answer.  This was really fun--an informative!--to read with the kids.  Lots of laughs!  This book is targeted for ages 4-6, and let me tell you, I have two in that age bracket who loved this book

Dolly and the Train, Illustrated by Stephen Cartwright, is an Usborne Farmyard Tales Sticker Storybook with over 50 stickers.  This is just the sort of thing I would have gravitated to when I was a little girl.  Very cute and interactive, my four year old loves finding the correct stickers and putting them in place in the story.  Very cute illustrations!

Books make fantastic gifts for any occasion! To shop for these and other great books, visit Rebecca's Usborne Books & More site.

A lucky Macaroni Kid reader is going to get the chance to win one of the Usborne book I received, Why? or Dolly and the Train! There will be a winner of each book!  To enter, simply fill out this survey.  Winners will be picked at random on or about March 8, 2011, at which time this giveaway will be closed.

Here is what Rebecca would like you to know:

In 2010 I was introduced to Usborne Books & More; a British based Children’s Book publishing company. At first glance I was thrilled with the book options for my vibrant (at the time) 8 month old. I started with a Home Party just to get some books for free! I mean, who doesn’t like books for free! I walked away with over $200 worth of books for about $50. Needless to say, that was my hook. I had a taste of the books, and I needed more! The books for my daughter’s age range were so sturdy, she could actually handle them herself and I had no fear of damage! The books for children as they get older are so interesting, that when my mother attended my home show, she bought 4 books. Two of these books were for her new Granddaughter and two for herself.

I needed more books! And my dear friend convinced me to join the company. I am not a home show person, nor am I a personal business person. But the books were so fabulous, the draw of having more of them was more than I could handle. So I joined.

The more I learned about the books, the more excited I became. The more I learned about the company, the more enthusiastic I was, and the more potential I saw. Finally, I understood that Usborne Books & More is not just a company, but a vision. And I can’t be more excited to be with them.
I stand before you today, confident that I am representing a family oriented, literacy and education supporting company. Usborne Books and more supports their product 100%; with a true dedication to the quality of that product. I will with complete confidence offer this opportunity to everyone that I meet. We offer Home Shows, Literacy Programs, Book Fairs, and of course a business opportunity.

I look forward to working with Northwest-Jersey’s Macaroni-kid subscribers.
